AN ACT Relating to allowing limited exemptions to renewable energy systems requirements for certain school districts; amending RCW 19.27.195 and 19.27A.020 ; and adding a new section to chapter 19.27A RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 19.27A RCW to read as follows:

(1)(a) By January 1, 2027, the state building code council must amend the Washington state energy code to exempt an eligible school district from the requirement to include a renewable energy generation system in each new building or addition larger than 10,000 square feet of gross conditioned floor area.
