By Representatives Ryu, Peterson, Cortes, Graham, Nance, Stuebe, Zahn, Callan, Obras, Berry, Hill, Richards, Macri, Street, Timmons, Gregerson, Paul, Stearns, and Taylor

WHEREAS, The State of Washington is one of the most trade-driven states in the United States, with international trade supporting nearly one million jobs across the state; and

WHEREAS, The people of Washington value its trade relationships with the people of Canada and Mexico; and

WHEREAS, Canada is consistently Washington state's largest export destination, with billions of dollars in goods and services exchanged annually, supporting workers, farmers, manufacturers, and small businesses in every region of the state; and

WHEREAS, Washington's aerospace industry, the highest concentration of advanced manufacturing in the nation, relies on stable trade flows and competitive supply chains; and

WHEREAS, Washington's agricultural community, including producers of potatoes, apples, cherries, berries, hops, wheat, dairy, seafood, and wine, depends on reliable access to markets to sustain family farms, rural communities, and food processors throughout the state; and

WHEREAS, Washington's technology and innovation sectors rely on digital trade and intellectual property provisions to provide the necessary certainty for business growth; and

WHEREAS, Businesses operating in Washington depend on consistency, transparency, and cooperation to make long-term investments, retain workers, and remain competitive in the global economy;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the State of Washington reaffirm its strong support for the enduring economic and commercial ties between the people of the State of Washington, Mexico, and Canada.
