WHEREAS, The citizens of Washington state honor, appreciate, and remember our Navy personnel; and

WHEREAS, The Washington state House of Representatives honor military members in Washington, the United States, and across the globe; and

WHEREAS, Washington is uniquely positioned to help address challenges in the Pacific and in Asia; and

WHEREAS, Washington has been a historically significant location for Navy installations; and

WHEREAS, The state of Washington is the location of one naval base, two naval stations, and a naval hospital; and

WHEREAS, Washington state houses aircraft carriers, multiple surface ships, numerous submarines, and hundreds of aircraft; and

WHEREAS, The residents of Washington include tens of thousands of Navy personnel; and

WHEREAS, Navy installations inject billions of dollars into local economies; and

WHEREAS, Washington state Navy installations are recognized for environmental stewardship successes and continue to actively assist in partnership efforts statewide; and
