AN ACT Relating to creating the educational transit access grant program to reduce the cost of public transportation for community and technical college students; adding a new section to chapter 47.66 RCW; creating a new section; and providing an effective date.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. The legislature believes that reducing the cost of transportation for community and technical college students is essential to their educational success. It is the intent of the legislature to assist public transit agencies to develop partnerships with local community and technical colleges defined in RCW 28B.50.030 , in order to establish pilot programs to assist in lowering this cost of transportation.

NEW SECTION. Sec. 2. A new section is added to chapter 47.66 RCW to read as follows:
