AN ACT Relating to establishing a global war on terror memorial on the capitol campus; amending RCW 43.34.100 ; adding a new section to chapter 43.34 RCW; creating a new section; and providing a contingent expiration date.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. The legislature intends to remember Washington service members who died in Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, and Operation New Dawn, which are classified under the umbrella term global war on terror.

Following the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, many Washington residents answered the call to serve their country in the global war on terror. They chose duty and sacrifice, serving in the nation's all-volunteer military to prevent such a devastating attack on America from happening again.
