READ FIRST TIME 01/27/26.

AN ACT Relating to responding to federal guidance on tax liability issues in the state paid family and medical leave program by modifying the distribution of employer and employee contributions between family and medical leave premiums without affecting how the total premium is divided between employees and employers; and amending RCW 50A.10.030 .

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

Sec. 1. RCW 50A.10.030 and 2025 c 304 s 3 are each amended to read as follows:

(1) The department shall assess for each individual in employment with an employer and for each individual electing coverage a premium based on the amount of the individual's wages subject to subsection (4) of this section.
