AN ACT Relating to expanding access to athletic trainers in schools; and adding a new section to chapter 43.70 RCW.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

NEW SECTION. Sec. 1. A new section is added to chapter 43.70 RCW to read as follows:

(1)(a) Subject to the availability of amounts appropriated for this specific purpose, the department shall establish a matching grant program to assist critical access hospitals in hiring a licensed athletic trainer whose services will be available free of charge to students in local school districts.
