AN ACT Relating to improving community safety and justice in the civil commitment of sexually violent predators; amending RCW 71.09.020 , 71.09.020 , 71.09.090 , 71.09.092 , 71.09.092 , 71.09.096 , 71.09.096 , 71.09.097 , 71.09.097 , 71.09.140 , and 9.94A.717 ; creating a new section; providing an effective date; and providing expiration dates.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF WASHINGTON:

Sec. 1. RCW 71.09.020 and 2021 c 236 s 2 are each amended to read as follows:

Unless the context clearly requires otherwise, the definitions in this section apply throughout this chapter.
