HOUSE RESOLUTION NO. 2171

Celebrating the life of Jane Linthicum Bosley.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, June 22, 2026

WHEREAS, Jane Linthicum Bosley, a respected librarian and active and beloved member of the Hamilton community, died on February 24, 2026; and

WHEREAS, born in Lynchburg, Jane Bosley earned a bachelor's degree in library science and master's degree in library administration from James Madison University; she also had the unique opportunity to study motion picture direction under the legendary Hollywood director Frank Capra; and

WHEREAS, Jane Bosley dedicated 33 years to Loudoun County Public Schools, first as a librarian and ultimately as library administrator, working tirelessly to nurture her students' and colleagues' well-being and success; and

WHEREAS, Jane Bosley was actively involved in the Hamilton community as a member and president of the Original Hamilton Book Club, a member of the auxiliary for Company 5 of the Hamilton Volunteer Fire Department, and a member and past president of what was formerly the Virginia Educational Media Association; and

WHEREAS, Jane Bosley loved reading, cooking, photography, traveling the world, and, above all else, spending quality time with family and loved ones; and

WHEREAS, Jane Bosley will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by her husband of 58 years, William; her sister, Algene; and numerous other family members and friends; now, therefore, be it
