Commending Georgina Aye.

Agreed to by the House of Delegates, June 22, 2026

WHEREAS, Georgina Aye, principal of Fairfax High School, was selected as the Washington Post 2026 Principal of the Year for her transformative leadership and unwavering dedication to creating an inclusive learning environment where students can achieve their fullest potential; and

WHEREAS, during Georgina Aye's tenure as principal, Fairfax High School has recorded a significant increase in enrollment in Advanced Placement, dual enrollment, and honors courses and the school received its first-ever Purple Star School award for its work with military families; and

WHEREAS, Georgina Aye is committed to professional growth and advancement, and her thoughtful, innovative leadership style has ensured that faculty and staff have the tools and support they need to meet any challenge; and

WHEREAS, Georgina Aye has demonstrated a strong focus on outreach and programs to expand access to education and new opportunities for both students and members of the wider community; she personally teaches English language classes for parents and caregivers, empowering them to navigate educational systems and advocate for their children; and

WHEREAS, Georgina Aye was previously honored as the 2025 Outstanding Principal by Fairfax County Public Schools; now, therefore, be it

RESOLVED by the House of Delegates, That Georgina Aye hereby be commended on the occasion of her selection as the Washington Post 2026 Principal of the Year; and, be it
